Anyway, since I had my baby, I hadn’t thought a lot about acupuncture. I’d been on maternity leave and I was focused full-time on mom-stuff. It wasn’t until my baby got a cough around the holidays last year that I began to think about it again.
So now here I am tonight, with a sore throat. I’ve got to admit that if I’d just turned to acupuncture at the first sign of symptoms (or even before that as a way to stay well), and had been consistent with treatments, this whole middle-of-the-night thing wouldn’t be happening. My baby probably wouldn’t have gotten to the point of needing that magic holiday-time midnight treatment and I would be sleeping comfortably in my bed right now.
What is the take-away for anyone reading this? Get acupuncture at the first sign of a cough, cold, or sore throat and avoid being awake writing a blog about being sick (or, even worse, worrying about your sick baby) at 2:00 AM. Too late for that? Find an acupuncturist tomorrow morning then. Best wishes!
